Twenty-Five Gifts Under Grandma’s Tree

Twenty-five small presents (which included a few bigger ones) were our gift every year to three elderly relatives. It was a kick to put them under their Christmas trees. Each one carried a big number. And each day, for days one through twenty-five, Christmas was a little more magical. We saw real joy on those faces when we would go and set up the little trees. We collected the gifts throughout the year, and that made it easy. One set was sent out of town in just a big plastic bin filled with joy.
