Make It Count Twice

You are planning to make a gift to a charity, a school, or any 501(c)(3) organization. You like what they do and what they stand for. Make it count as a double gift. You make the same gift but name it in someone’s honor. It costs you no more but it is a lovely gesture; the organization benefits, and the honoree is touched. Example: You are going to give a donation to your alma mater. Make the gift in honor of one of your best college buddies or a professor you thought was great. Or you are going to donate to a hospital for research or to a capital campaign. Give the gift in honor of someone you care about. It could be a family member or a client. It’s just a really nice gesture and it costs you nothing more.
