How to Make Two New Teams (or Conflicting Teams) Work Better Together
July 18, 2019
Companies, organizations, and hospitals are merging everywhere. And even though you have worked hard to make sure the values and the cultures of the organizations are similar, there will always be issues, rumors, and fear.
People are people. And most people are good people. Most of us care about our families, health, and careers, and most of us believe in a higher power—whatever that means to each of us individually. So don’t make your first blending effort a business issue around which there may be some real strain; instead, go and do something together that helps other people. Build a playground. Paint a school. Spend the day planting a garden for a community. Do something together that shows the common ground. Get out of the workplace and be people together. It can make a real difference.
This can also work when you are trying to blend two families, create a better culture between teachers in a school, or in any other situation where you are trying to get people to come together. When you touch the heart, people open up and are often willing to go together to a deeper level.
