Bedroom Closets as a Makeshift Nursery
January 30, 2020

We have so many young grandbabies in our family that, when building our new family lake home, we made sure each bedroom closet was large enough to accommodate a crib. By adding just a few extra inches to each closet, we were able to give parents some privacy while still having their babies nearby.
We put a charming, inexpensive kids’ mural or picture above the cribs, attached them so the pictures wouldn’t move, painted the closets a fun color or used leftover wallpaper, and added a crib to each room. Make sure there is an appropriately placed outlet for the baby monitor. And when used as a nursery, keep the closet door cracked open so air circulates.
