All-Time Great Gifts for Your Granddaughters
December 13, 2019
Get a suitcase—it can be an old one or a new one; it doesn’t matter. Add the child’s name (some places, like Pottery Barn, will personalize their charming suitcases for children). Fill it with princess dress-up clothes. I did this for two of my granddaughters at Christmas. Inside were dresses and shoes, wands, and boas. (This gift works just as well with new dress-up clothes or old clothes of Grandma’s, from hats, to purses, to costume jewelry, skirts, and scarves.) It was a HUGE hit. Their ages were three and two, and they loved dressing up with their cousin who came to play.
So, you might ask why I didn’t give this gift to my third granddaughter. The short answer is because her mom (my daughter) was a tomboy, and the last things she wants now are princess costumes for her daughter! I always make sure my kids are okay with my gifts to their children. My other sweet granddaughter got an easel, paints, and markers. Everyone was happy.
