All About Candy
August 22, 2018
Candy is a colorful, easy treat with which to decorate almost anything. I have used it in so many ways. People enjoy candy no matter if it’s the finest chocolate or penny candy. Think about using candy to:
- Make a wreath, an ornament, or a gum-drop tree.
- Build a candy train or a chain for a Christmas tree.
- Serve as a nametag or a place card.
- Decorate donuts, cupcakes, candy houses, cookies, ice cream, birthday cakes.
- Brighten up a wedding, a black-tie event, a charity party, or a child’s birthday.
- Concentrate the colors for a fantastic look, using three shades of greens or six kinds of candy in shiny silver.
- Add multiple colors—the variety says HAPPY.
- Make a candy necklace out of wrapped candy—simply string it on ribbon.
- Fill interesting shaped bottles, sprinkle candy over a tablecloth, layer on a surface, or spell out words.
- Include in a party invitation—or make it the invitation.
- Serve as a party favor or gift (try filling cellophane bags or a giant jar!).
- Place something as simple as Nerds or M&M’s on a white table cloth—it makes a silly and fun presentation.
- Customize a gift: for example, make a photo wrapper to cover a chocolate bar.
- Use as a wedding favor: oversize chocolate turtles or cello bags of Hershey’s Kisses.
- Set out in bowls, bags, or boxes.
- Make a basket of someone’s favorites—it’s a welcome gift almost any time.
I could go on and on. Search Google for “candy as a decoration” or search a color of the candy you want to use. Look at Candy.com, candywarehouse.com, or any of a dozen other great sites online. Have fun! Enjoy. At the 2017 Oscars: candy came floating down on mini parachutes, and the crowd went wild. Just about anything with candy works. Yay for Willy Wonka!
